For students new to debate, our summer novice classes are currently underway at this time and registration is closed. We would love to have you join us for our Fall program if you’re interested in getting started with debate or public speaking!

For our returning students, we still have open spots in our debate and public speaking workshops for middle and high school students. However, if you’d like to return for a full-length class, please join us for our Fall program!

    July 22 – 26 @

    • Half day: 12:00 – 2:30 PM ET (9:00 – 11:30 AM PT)

    Experienced workshops are a half day event for returning students of all levels or debaters with prior experience. Currently, our enrollment is only open for middle and high school students. Students are divided into labs based on their grade and experience.

    Summer workshops are designed to provide students in-depth learning that is tailored to their individual needs. Prior to workshops, students complete an evaluation that our coaches use to create specialized lesson plans and activities, ensuring students have the opportunity to focus on the areas of interest/need.

  • Session 2: Public Address Workshop (Click to View)

    Week of July 15th to 19th @ 3:00 – 5:30 PM ET (12:00 – 2:30 PM PT)

    Middle and high school students will learn competitive speech events known as “Original Oratory” or “Informative Speaking”. In Original Oratory, students will create, rehearse, and memorize a 5-10 minute persuasive speech with the purpose of changing the audience’s mind. In Informative Speaking, students will create similar speeches, with the purpose of the speech being to educate the audience.

  • Session 3: Interpretation Workshop (Click to View)

    July 29th to August 2nd @ 3:00 – 5:30 PM ET (12:00 – 2:30 PM PT)

    Middle and high school students will learn limited preparation events including Dramatic Interpretation and Humorous Interpretation, where they will learn to act out a speech that was written by someone else. In interpretive events, students will learn to perform published materials to make stories come alive by using only their body and voice.
