  • Varsity Flex Debate | Public Forum (Click to View)

Formerly called “Varsity+”, our Varsity Flex program allows varsity debaters the flexibility to change their online class and meeting time from week to week, so they may tailor their learning to focus on the concepts and drills they want to focus on in preparing for competition.

In an effort to best support our Varsity students, online “Varsity Flex” classes will now be offered

Sundays @ 6:00 PM ET (3:00 PM PT) and @ 7:45 PM ET (4:45 PM PT)
Monday – Thursday (each day) @ 7:15 PM ET (4:15 PM PT)

Students attend one class per week. You can either lock in a consistent weekly time for the semester or choose a flexible schedule where you pick your classes each month based on the topics being covered. Please take a look at our sample schedule (linked here) to get an idea of what a topic schedule might look like.
  • World Schools Debate (Click to View)

World Schools Debate is one of the fastest-growing debate formats in the world, where students debate 3 vs. 3 on a wide range of global issues. Unlike Public Forum Debate, which places a heavier emphasis on research and writing, World Schools combines prepared and impromptu speaking, helping students develop persuasive communication, critical thinking, adaptability, and teamwork.

    Competitive Public Speaking
Competitive Public Speaking is our highest level Public Speaking class. Its focus is on preparing students to compete in NSDA speech events at weekend tournaments. Specifically, this class will help students prepare the following events: Oratory, Informative, Extemp, and Impromptu. Simulating a team environment, students may re-enroll in this class for multiple years to create, practice, and then compete using their own new original speeches.

This class requires first completing PDA’s Public Speaking 1 & 2 classes or having significant prior experience competing in speech or debate tournaments.
